TaxisNet and the κλειδάριθμος — your master login to the Greek state
What it is
When you obtain an AFM, you also receive an Authentication Key (κλειδάριθμος). You use it once to activate your TaxisNet credentials — the login that unlocks AADE tax services and a wide range of gov.gr public services. The AFM application is simultaneously the κλειδάριθμος application.
Why it matters for your money
TaxisNet credentials are the master login. They (or your web-banking codes) are what open Gov.gr Wallet, EFKA, the Personal Number platform, and your annual tax filing. Whoever controls your κλειδάριθμος can act for you across the state — which is exactly why it must be protected like a bank password.
How to get it
It comes with the AFM. If you already have an AFM but no credentials, you can often obtain a κλειδάριθμος online by proving ownership of your mobile number through your bank or mobile provider, then entering your ID details, IBAN, email and carrier. Otherwise you collect it at a tax office (ΔΟΥ).
Register your mobile in ΕΜΕπ
many services (the Wallet, the Personal Number) require your phone number to be verified in the National Communication Registry (ΕΜΕπ / EMEp). Doing this early removes a common blocker later.
How not to get cheated
no official body will ever phone, text or email you asking for your κλειδάριθμος, TaxisNet password, or an OTP code. Anyone who does is running a scam. Treat these credentials like cash: don’t share them, don’t enter them on links sent to you, and change the password if you suspect exposure.
